Information for Medical Providers
Central Florida RHIO helps physicians and hospitalists provide timely, accurate and safe care to patients through CHARTS health information exchange. CHARTS provides instant access to a patient’s lab test results, diagnostic reports, medical history and reports if other organizations have provided care to the patient.
CHARTS minimizes critical delays in patient care and reduces duplication of health-care services. Electronic access to patient medical history, tests and notes also reduces risk when considering treatment plans. Participating emergency departments are connected through CFRHIO’s electronic medical information system, and the network will continue to expand through the addition of other hospitals, community health centers and private physician practices.
Accessible Information
CHARTS provides instant access to crucial medical information such as:
Technology Interoperability
CHARTS uses GE Healthcare technology for its consolidated electronic health records system. Using standard Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) and Healthcare IT Standards Panel (HITSP) protocols, CHARTS interprets HL7 messages and places them into a consolidated information repository. Our system aggregates data to create one master file per patient that can be accessed by authorized clinicians throughout participating organizations..
Program Participants
Currently, 11 emergency departments in the Florida Hospital and Orlando Health medical systems are connected through CFRHIO’s electronic medical information system. Future expansion will include the addition of community health centers, Primary Care Access Network offices, physicians and regional hospitals.
